Romans 8:17 says, "Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory".

Scriptures

Titus 3:5-7 (NLT) says, 5 “He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. 6 This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” [1]

Titus 3:5-7 (KJV) says, 5 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;  7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.[2]

For Sermonic Clarity, 7 “So that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” [3]

I.                    Introduction

1What does the term “heir” truly mean? As the next of kind to someone who dies, you are the person or person who will normally inherit the property or values the deceased leaves behind. However, we need to break the term “Heir” down into several categories:

a. Legal heir: Is an individual who has the “Right” and “Entitlement” to succeed to the wealth and

property of the deceased individual, under the legal will else personal law applicable succession

signed.

b. Rightful heir: Is someone who’s legally “entitled” to inherit your assts if you die intestate, meaning

you pass away without a valid will or trust.

c. Legitimate heir: Is someone who is “Entitled” to receive property from someone who has died

without leaving a will. They can also inherit property through a will or by law. They can be a family

member or someone who is line to inherit a lot of money or property.

d. These are the types of “Heirs” that we find in the world, inheriting thing, properties, and valuable

of the world.

2.  Who are the “Heirs” of the Kingdom of God?

a. In this ‘religion’ that we call Christianity, the heirs of the Kingdom of God is first, Christ Jesus, and

we as “Believers” are co-heirs with Him. We as “Believers” are co-heirs with Him!

b. Believers are those who have accepted the message of the Kingdom, received eternal life through

Christ Jesus, and are (“NOW)” members of the Kingdom of God, which (“NOW”) resides in us, the

Spirit of God!

c. Romans 8:16-17 (NSRV) says, 16 “it is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are

children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ—if, in fact, we

suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.” [4]

1. Now listen to this, the Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are “Children of God (“Spirit to

Spirit”), then heirs to heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, “IF” indeed we suffer with Hi! ‘IF” we

suffer with Him, that we may also be “Glorified” together! Hello! Somebody!

2. While there are others, who say that “Heirs” of the Kingdom of God are those who have joined the

body of Christ and set aside personal differences to unite in a spiritual cause.

3. Others say that their “Heirs of God are those who are “redeemed” from the curse and are joint heirs

with Jesus. As co-heirs with Christ, believers share in Jesus’ inheritance, which includes His glory and

riches, and all things.

4. That’s why the Bible says in Matt. 6:33 (NRSV) 33 says, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and

live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.[5] (NLT) says, 33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” [6]

5. The question for “Right” now, are we still “Justified” as Heirs to Christ? Do we have a “Right” to call

ourselves “Justified?”

II.                  Justified Co-Heirs with Christ

1. We talked about all of the types of Heirs in the world. We talked about legal, legitimate, rightful, and true heirs. But we did NOT talk about a “Justified” heir. Let’s take a look at our Text for today (This evening). The Text says in Titus 3:6-7 6 “This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” [7] Verse 6 says, “Having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

2. What does this word “Justify” mean? The Greek word for “Justify” is Kikaioo, which is interpreted to mean to make morally “Righteous,” to be considered “Righteous,” and to have a justification of “Righteousness. Justification is a word used in Scripture to mean that in Christ, we are “forgiven and actually made “Righteous” in our living. Hallelujah! Somebody!

3. In the Apostle Paul’s writings, he used the word “Justify” to mean that God declares (sinful) men ‘Righteous,” not based on their own merit or works, but on the merit or works of Jesus. Can I get a witness? Somebody!

Contextual Background

In our Text, this morning (evening), in this letter address to Titus, a young leader in the early church, whom Paul had left on the island of Crete to help “Organize” and “Strengthened” the churches there. Paul’s purpose in writing is to provide guidance on “Church Leadership,” “Sound Doctrine,” and Ethical Living.”

1.In Titus Three, Apostle Paul “Contrasts” the behavior of the “Believers” with those who do “NOT” know God. See, here he is comparing the “Believers” of the “Way ST. Community” with the “World Ave. Community.” I wish I had some help this morning (Evening).

2. Paul reminds Titus and the “Way ST Community Believers” on the island of Crete of what times were like when they lived over in the “World Ave. Community.” How they lived a life characterized by “Foolishness” and “Disobedience,” before emphasizing that they wanted to make a “Transition” from the “World” to the “Kingdom.” They wanted to “Embrace” the “Transformative” power of God’s mercy, and “Make-A-Move” from the “World Ave. Community” to the “Way ST. Community” in the Kingdom of God! Hello, somebody!

3.  There are “Three Key Themes” in this Text: 1. Salvation is by Grace, 2. The Role of the Holy Spirit, and

3. Inheritance of eternal life.

The First Point: Salvation is by Grace.

If you want to change the community where you live, first you have to desire to make a change. However, moving from the “World Ave. Community” requires much more than your “Works” to make a move! It requires the “Mortgage Officer” to lend you some “Grace.” See, “Grace” is the requirement for you to make your move. It requires for you to be gifted with “Salvation.”

2. Our Text highlights that fact that “Salvation” is NOT based on human works, but the “Mercy of God” and His “Grace.” 1. NOT how many Bible studies you teach! 2. NOT how many Revivals you Preach! 3. NOT How many radio broadcast you do! 4. NOT how many ministries you support!  5. NOT how many home visits you make! This time, it is “NOT” about you or your works, it’s solely about the Lord’s “Grace and His mercy!” Did you know that the Number “5” symbolizes His “Grace? Can I get a witness? Somebody!

3. Lastly, this Text emphasizes the theme of “Justification” and “Grace.” Here, our Father conveys to the “Way ST. Community” ‘Believers’ (NOW) that they are “Justified,” that you ARE (NOW) “Justified” whereby they are, and you (NOW) are declared “Righteous” by God’s “Grace,” rather than, by their own works or by your own works. In other word, “You cannot achieve this on your own!” No matter how hard you work, who you are connected to or with! No matter what potential you might have for futures endeavors. You cannot become “Justified” by any doings of your own! Can I get a witness? Somebody! Think about that! Are you willing to “Embrace” the fact that God wants you to be “Co-Inheritors” with Christ in the Kingdom of God!

III.                Justified Co-Heirs with Christ

The Second Point is the Role Played by the Holy Spirit.

1. In Titus Three, Apostle Paul “Contrasts” the behavior of the “Believers” with those who do “NOT” know God. See, here he is comparing the “Believers” of the “Way ST. Community” with the “World Ave. Community.” I wish I had some help this morning.

3. When we make the “Transitional” decision to choose God over the World. “The Way ST. Community” over the “World Ave. Community,” we enter a period of “Spirit -to-Spirit” connectivity that I “Call” a “Divine Bi-Frequency Connection”, where the Spirit of God “dwells” with your Spirit.

4. God “Rightfully” gifts His “Co-Inheritors” with Christ as “Co-Heirs” to His Kingdom with Christ by reminding them that when “Believers” enter into a relationship with Him, it is a “Spirit-to-Spirit” connection. It is in the “Spirit” realm, where God gifts you with “Transformative” power, where our God sent His Son Jesus Christ to “Save” us!

5. At this point (NOW), we are “Justified” Co-Heirs with grace because of God’s love and grace has (Now) “Justified” us! This, we can illuminate as “Spiritual Washing” or “Regeneration,” NOT because of our “Works or Merits,” but of the “Works and Merits” of Christ Jesus. We are “Spiritual” washed and “Regenerated” a “Renewal of our Spirit,” which “NOW” should be lifted up and being “Cleansed and Purified!” Hello! Somebody!

6. Apostle Paul gives us what I “Believe” to be God’s Divine “Transformative Seal” to receive your “Justified” seal of being a Co-Inheritor” with Christ in Kingdom when we are “Obedient” to God’s instructions given to us in Romans 12:2, 2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. “[8]

7.  Lastly, listen to this, the power of God’s indwelling Spirit, the washing of regeneration purifies us from all sin. At once, we are made righteous, sanctified, and justified in the name of Jesus Christ by God’s Holy Spirit.

The Third Point: We Should be “Overjoyed” with Our Inheritance of Eternal Life.

1.       When a “Sinner” places his/her “Trust in Jesus Christ, he or she is “Justified” or declared “Righteous” by God through the “Sacrificial” death of His Son. Christ’s work is “Justification.” His work is “Eternal,” gifted to us through the “Indwelling” power of the Holy Spirit.

2.       I want you to know once we are made “Justified,” we are made “We are made “Righteous!” We are made “Sanctified!” We are made “Justified, and “(NOW)” we are “Eternal!” We have to hold onto our “Eternal Hope!” We have to hold onto our “Eternal Hope!” We have to hold unto out “Eternal Hope!”

3.       Being “Justified” Co-Heirs   to the Kingdom with Christ is all about believing, submitting, sacrificing, and making a choice ,and making a commitment to where and how we choose to live. We cannot keep “Straddling” the fence. We cannot the keep choosing the World, or the “Culture” in, and of the World, over Christ. If you “Accept” Christ as Lord, and He in you, you have made a commitment.

4.       Gal.2:20, (NIV) “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Closing

2.      Rom. 3:34-25 24,l are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished.” #29Jeremiah #WDRBMedia.com
